As 2021 comes to a close, We The People have a lot to celebrate. While there is a lot of work to be done in the years to come, we saw some major victories for Americans in 2021.
From parental rights to economic freedom, here are WTP’s picks for the biggest political wins of the year:
- Parental Rights: As concerns over liberal hot topics like CRT and medical freedom grow, and Democrats claim parents shouldn’t have any control over what goes on in the classroom, parents are fed up and fighting back— and, it’s making a difference. In Florida, HB 241 secured parental rights for education, healthcare, and criminal justice. Likewise, in Texas, lawmakers took steps to ensure children aren’t separated from their parents without due cause. As voters say no to politicians who want the government to control our children, parental rights are gaining traction.
- Second Amendment & Standing Your Ground: Kyle Rittenhouse’s trial drew national attention in 2021, serving as a catalyst for a host of conversations about gun control, self defense, and more throughout the year. It’s certain that we will see more challenges to the second amendment and the right to self defense as our nation moves forward, but Rittenhouse’s acquittal stands as a beacon of hope in this arena.
- Economic & Personal Freedom: Americans are standing up for economic and personal liberties. Florida continues to lead the fight for freedom as bills like SB 2006 and others protected Floridian’s jobs, put an end to arbitrary lockdowns, and safeguarded personal freedoms. States across the nation continue to rally against government overreach.
- Democracy: Meanwhile, legal action is being taken against executive orders that reach well beyond the intended powers of the president. Americans are sending a clear message: Joe Biden cannot be the King of the United States.
Thanks to Americans like you, we saw real progress in the fight for freedom this year. If you want to help WTP keep this momentum going in 2022, you can donate here.
